Trade Minister, European Commission discuss trade 2018-06-02

    During the meeting, Trade Minister Kim raised concerns about safeguard investigations into imported steel products currently being carried out by the EU, and suggested measures to improve current multilateral trade rules in light of the fourth industrial revolution. 
     
    Trade Minister Kim is visiting Europe this week to meet his counterparts from the EU and its member states, and to discuss trade issues, including the group’s safeguard investigation and the U.S. tariffs imposed on steel and aluminum products based on Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act. 
     
    During his visit, he attended the annual Ministerial Council Meeting at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as head of the Korean delegation, as well as the trade ministers meeting for a World Trade Organization (WTO) gathering, that both took place in Paris on May 31.
