Sales Trends of Major Distributor for June 2014 2014-07-25
The sales of supermarkets declined by 5.9% year-on-year and by 6.7% month-on-month in June 2014. The overall sales decline is attributed to the weaker seasonal sales due to temperatures being lower than in the previous year, as well as there being less operating days on holidays (-1 day). Sales continuously declined year-on-year due to the obligatory off-days on weekends and the increase in the number of SSMs with shorter operating hours. The sales decline is also attributed to price declines for vegetables and fruits.
