- Minister Sung co-chairs first export strategy meeting between public and private sectors 2019-01-22
Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Sung Yun-mo co-chaired with the Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association the first export strategy meeting between the public and private sectors in Seoul on January 21.
During the meeting, Minister Sung asked the export industry to strive for developing new export items and diversifying export markets. At the same time, he requested export promotion agencies to actively assist export companies. Minister Sung also said that the Korean government will provide measures to strengthen the country’s export competitiveness.
Export strategy meetings will be held once every quarter to discuss solutions to export difficulties and responses to existing trade issues. Other topics of discussion will include cooperation between government departments and export promotion agencies.
The meeting was attended by some 30 individuals, consisting of industry group representatives and government officials. Among them were Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-Sure) Chairman Lee In-ho and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Vice President Kim Jong-choon.
