Trade, Industry and Energy 2nd Vice Minister Park Il-jun held the Nuclear Energy Industry Competitiveness Task Force meeting in Seoul on June 16 to discuss inter-ministerial measures for vitalizing the nuclear power ecosystem by seeking financial solutions and new projects in the market.
In his opening message, the Vice Minister noted that “nuclear energy is regaining attention both internally and globally in aspects of energy security and stable power supply,” and added that “there is a need to create more jobs and promote exports for the nuclear energy industry.” He assured that “relevant ministries and companies will put in best efforts to bolster nuclear energy competitiveness.”
The meeting was attended by various representatives from relevant ministries and industries, including Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) Executive Vice President Nam Yoh-shik, Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) Vice President Lim Moon-taek and Korean Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) Executive Director Lee Eun-il.
