Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Bang Moon Kyu visited the Hyundai Asan Plant on September 26 for the launching of the Exporter Visiting Group as part of Minister Bang’s first stride towards export growth for the second half of 2023.

 

The Exporter Visiting Group is a program launched by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) that aims to uncover export challenges by taking the initiative in communicating with each business sector’s associations, large corporations, SMEs and middle-market companies to resolve on-site issues through joint efforts with institutions that support exporters in finance, marketing and certification areas. Various measures for export support were discussed at the launching ceremony, including entering the ASEAN market using ODA businesses, such as establishing charging stations and providing test supplies of electric vehicles (EVs), securing more car carriers to solve the problem of port congestion, and trade insurance limits for car parts manufacturers.

 

The launching event was attended by relevant export supporting institutions’ and companies’ representatives, including KOTRA President Yu Jeoung-yeol, K-SURE President Lee In-ho and Hyundai Motor CSO Lee Dong-seok.
