Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Lee Chang-yang held a conference on May 15 with nuclear industry representatives to review the nuclear industry policy outcomes over the first one year of President Yoon’s administration and discuss measures for enhancing competitiveness, technology development and personnel training.

 

Minister Lee gave an opening message, stating that “as major countries are concentrating on nuclear energy as an alternative energy source for overcoming the current crisis and fierce competition is expected in SMRs and future nuclear markets, Korea will aim to win overseas project bids and support the export of materials and equipment to boost new job creation, while assisting companies with predictable and consistent policy measures.”

 

The event was attended by major representatives of the nuclear energy industry and relevant organizations, including Doosan Enerbility and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP).
