Minister for Trade Dukgeun Ahn met with Lithuania’s Foreign Affairs Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis on January 12 in Seoul to discuss measures to strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation and also requested support for World Expo 2030 Busan.

Minister Landsbergis mentioned that Lithuanian companies specializing in LNG (Klaipedos Nafta), laser (Light Conversion) and EV charging (In Balance Grid) had accompanied him on his visit to hold talks with Korean companies like Samsung Display and SK E&S. He stated that he looked forward to the successful expansion of the two countries’ business collaboration, emphasizing Lithuania’s competitiveness in the LNG and laser industries.

Trade Minister Ahn assessed that the business collaboration talks have been building up since the mutual visits of both countries’ government officials and entrepreneurs in 2022, and expressed anticipation towards concrete joint project outcomes on the occasion of Minister Landsbergis’ visit.

Lastly, he requested Lithuania’s support for Korea’s bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan.
