The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE)'s Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo held the Global Supply Chain Inspection Meeting at the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) office in Seoul on April 29 to address pending issues arising from ongoing external crises.
Prior to presiding the meeting, the trade chief first visited the Global Supply Chain Analysis Center, a research center launched by MOTIE, KITA, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and purely devoted to year-round professional analysis on global supply chain matters, where he received a briefing from Center Lead Cho Sang-hyeon on the supply chain situation and to encourage the center personnel. In the inspection meeting following, Minister Yeo facilitated discussions to assess the impact on domestic businesses from China’s COVID-19 lockdowns and Russia-Ukraine conflict, and to seek public-private joint measures for reinforcing supply chain intelligence.
The meeting was attended by various relevant institutions' representatives, including KITA’s department head Jang Sang-sik, Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association Executive Managing Director Kim Joo-hong, and LX International division head Baek Pung-ryeol.
