Korean exports surge 11.2% in January
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on February 1 that Korea’s exports surged 11.2 percent to USD 40.3 billion in January from a year earlier, marking the first double-digit growth since January 2013. Korea’s retail sales grow 8.5% in 2016
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on January 31 that retail sales rose by 8.5 percent in 2016 from a year earlier, driven by a double-digit growth of e-commerce sales. Online retail sales soared 18.1 percent year-on-year in 2016 while in-store sales increased 4.5 percent. ICT exports expected to rebound in 2017
